Kama‘aina Kids provides convention care for 340 kids at the NMA Convention 2008 in Atlanta, Georgia!

About:  This summer, Kama`aina Kids provided a huge convention child care program in Atlanta, Georgia, also known as the “Peach State.” Kama‘aina Kids provided services for the National Medical Association sponsored Camp NMA-Zing 2008 for 340 kids (ages 3-21 years old). The program highlighted activities ATL-style!

• Kama‘aina Kids provided 30 staff including program director, coordinators and group leaders from Hawaii, 11 counselors from Georgia, 2 from California, 1 from Indiana and 1 from Ohio.

• Excursions included: visits to Centennial Olympic Park, Georgia Aquarium, World of Coca-Cola, Inside CNN Atlanta Tour, Six Flags Over Georgia, Center for Puppetry Arts, Imagine It, Martin Luther King, Jr. National Historic Site and Spelman & Morehouse College Tour.

• Activities included: NMA Project Sun, Capoeira Show & Workshop, Hip-Hop Experience, “Historical & Hysterical Tales” by Peter Bonner, Puppet Show and Wren’s Nest Storyteller.

• The 4-day camp finale included an entire day at Six Flags White Water for all ages and the night time culmination of a Juggling & Magic Show and Workshop for children ages 3-11, and a Pre-Teen & Teen Dance for campers ages 12 and up.
